⁣Andre Antunes ⁣Andre you should do an entire Nusrat album! You have no idea how much the people of India, Pakistan & Bangladesh (and more) will appreciate if you do that for us. You get it and you are the only person qualified enough to do Nusrat justice. Please upvote and help me convince Andre do a full Nusrat album.

⁣With origins dating back 600 years,[2] "Dama Dam Mast Qalandar" is a popular traditional Sindhi Sufi Bhakti Yoga Devotional Islamic folk song across the northern Indian subcontinent, especially Punjab and Sindh, as well as Iran.[3] Various renditions of the song have been composed and performed by numerous composers and singers over the years.

⁣These lyrics mirror exactly the name of the Qawwal – to be in intoxication “Mast”

This Qawwali is an ode to the Sufi saints and their profound love for God. The lyrics delve into the spirituality and devotion that is intrinsic to Sufi traditions. The repetition of “Dam Mast Qalandar Mast Mast” signifies the eternal presence of the Qalander (a spiritual leader or saint), whose essence and teachings continue to intoxicate and inspire followers.

The mention of “Jhoole Lal” and “Sakh Laal Qalandar” pays homage to the spiritual figures who embody deep love and devotion for God. The swinging motion symbolizes the rhythm of prayer and the constant recitation of God’s name. It signifies the ecstatic state of being lost in God’s love.

The Qawwali also emphasizes the importance of repeating the name of Ali, a revered figure in Sufi Islam. The lyrics urge Ali’s followers to continuously chant his name, reinforcing the idea of devotion and surrender to a higher power.

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s rendition of “Dam Mast Qalandar Mast Mast” is a testament to his incredible talent as a Qawwali singer. His soul-stirring vocals and mastery of the art form elevate this already powerful composition to greater heights.

As I listened to this Qawwali, I felt a sense of connection and spiritual elevation. The transcendental nature of the music allowed me to lose myself in its rhythm and experience a sense of peace and serenity.

In conclusion, “Dam Mast Qalandar Mast Mast” is not just a song; it’s a spiritual journey. It takes us on a path of devotion and love for a higher power. Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s rendition has touched the hearts of millions, spreading the essence of Sufi spirituality to every listener. So, close your eyes, immerse yourself in the music, and let the divine energy of this Qawwali guide you towards a deeper understanding of faith and devotion.

can’t compliment you any further than what people have said. Just absolutely incredible how you blended metal and one of the greatest legends of all time. Seriously consider making an album and distributing it via exclusive download. There are 2 billion people in South Asia. Everyone who listens to music knows this guy and no one has been able to do what you did in how you fused this together. There’s currently a big wave of people fusing classics like these into pop (check out coke studio) but nothing like this out there for what you have accomplished here. Thanks for this music it made me feel a lot of emotions hearing this from childhood favorite combined with things I listed to growing into adulthood. Cheers

⁣I've been listening to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan for decades and, to my ear, you have only enhanced it. It is amazing that you can make so much noise and not step on the vocals from a simple technical perspective, but to augment them musically without interfering is mind blowing. I wish he were alive to hear these interpretations. He did collaborations with Peter Gabriel, so he was open to exploring possibilities with the music. I bet he would have loved this.
